Having already entered the compact segment with the N versions of the i30 and Veloster, Hyundai’s sports division has launched its smallest model yet: the i20 N.
A subcompact hot hatchback, it has the Volkswagen Polo GTI and Ford Fiesta ST in its sights. It’s also about the same size as the GR Yaris, but the Toyota has an all-wheel drive system, whereas the i20 N and its rivals are offered strictly with front-wheel drive – plus, the GR Yaris is, essentially, a homologation special.

The Korean automaker says the i20 N was inspired by their rally car. It has beefed up looks, with the usual N touches and red accents, a big rear wing and standard 18-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tires.
