2022 Genesis G70 Shooting Brake Tested at the Nurburgring

For the first time since November, spy cameras have had another look at testing the Genesis G70 Shooting Brake. On the roads around the Nürburgring, this station wagon received a dazzling camouflage for the first time.

We’ve already seen cars in tests and always with a hidden body, but Genesis has never hidden the paintwork on the roof and side sills in a patterned camouflage pattern. The camouflage can also be seen through the headlights. This means that the company is almost ready to remove the uniform-concealing black camouflage on the front, back and sides.

Genesis CEO William Lee first mentioned the creation of a universal version of the G70 in February 2020. Competing with the BMW 3 Series Touring, A4 Avant and the like, the G70 Shooting Brake will look to take advantage of the recent wagon trend.

Genesis will wait until it updates the G70. Price tags for the 2022 G70 have already been announced. This means that this versatile version is also gearing up to debut. It is possible that the engine options will “move” from a sedan to a station wagon.

Then, under the hood will be a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with 252 horsepower or a 3.3-liter V6 with 365 horsepower. Both are available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The 8-speed automatic transmission takes over gear shifting functions in all cases.

The launch of the new model is close, but the release date of the G70 Shooting Brake has not yet been announced.
