Aston Martin launches new configurator for updated models

Aston Martin’s new configurator is based on gaming software and showcases a number of updates to the company’s lineup.

Aston Martin has launched a new online vehicle configurator. It replaces the rather outdated brand system by adding a smoother interface, faster load times, and software changes. It was developed not without the participation of gaming companies such as NVIDIA and Epic.

The new configurator also allows users to view the many model year updates Aston Martin will present to its vehicles in 2022. The changes include everything from subtle design tweaks to improved performance and additional options.

Let’s start with DB11. Its base 4.0-liter V8 now has an additional 24bhp for a total of 528bhp, which also increases its top speed to 310km / h. The DB11 can now also be fitted with optional “Sports Plus” seats that have shoulder and leg support, while the V12 model has lost the “AMR” nameplate badge.

Aston Martin’s flagship DBS Superleggera has been renamed simply “DBS” and there is a selection of new alloy wheel designs across the line. The Vantage and DBS will get new 21-inch wheels, while the DBX SUV can be fitted with new 23-inch rollers.

In addition, Aston Martin has introduced a new series of interior trim packages called Inspire, Accelerate and Create. The first variant was designed with luxury in mind, offering customers perforated leather seats, various decorations and contrasting stitching. There is also a choice of 38 different upholstery options.

The Accelerate is slightly sportier with bucket seats, Alcantara upholstery and 10 color options. As the name suggests, Create trim is aimed at buyers who want a more personalized vehicle, offering a range of 10 color combinations and a dedicated set of trims and decorations.

Aston Martin’s new configurator is based on the Epic Unreal game engine and allows users to view their configurations in a variety of 3D environments, such as studio backgrounds or real-world locations. Users can also now zoom in and view the finer details of each machine.
