A well-known Japanese tuning studio, Mugen, has presented a tuned version of the 2022 Honda Civic hatchback. The car has received a more aggressive appearance.

Mugen has modernized and raced many Honda vehicles for nearly 30 years. Following the debut of the all-new Civic, Mugen began work on their own version of the car. Details of the new product will appear in September, but now Mugen is offering several teasers showing what we can expect.

The lightweight aerodynamic body kit is easy to recognize.

Basically, all the black underneath the car is a redesign, including the chin treatment at the front, the side skirts and the rear fascia, which no longer has trapezoidal exhaust pipes. A modest spoiler is found on the rear panel, window deflectors and mirror caps, as well as a set of chic new wheels complete the more aggressive look.

A brief description of the car from Mugen itself tells us that the car received 18-inch forged aluminum wheels with an emphasis on sporty driving. Also mentioned is a sporty exhaust system upgrade as part of the overall tuning package. The latter pairs well with the redesigned rear bumper, as the new exhaust system boasts two oval tailpipes at the rear, one at each corner.

It’s definitely the performance-oriented look of a compact hatchback. Mugen will also offer sports floor mats, which the company says will keep outside air out and improve ventilation. However, at the moment, there is no complete certainty about what this means.

Mugen did not specify whether it will offer its “package” of upgrades only for the sedan or hatchback of the new Civic. Of course, body kit will be available for both versions of the iconic car, but since the new Civic Hatchback is the only version of the car offered with a manual transmission, we suspect that it will receive more attention in terms of tuning options.

Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote that Honda will sell a version of the Odyssey minivan from the Mugen studio. Honda’s press office has announced that it will soon be selling a version of the Mugen Odyssey minivan. Buyers will be able to choose from a variety of accessories for their minivan that enhance its performance and appearance / interior.
