Baidu will unveil self-developed smart car by 2023

The founder of Baidu, often referred to as China’s Google, Li Yanhong, compared the “smart cars” of the future with the most advanced robots.

The Chinese company Baidu is going to present a “smart car” developed by its specialists in a couple of years. It is reported by the news portal “Pengpai” with reference to the founder of the company Li Yanhong.

He announced the appearance of a revolutionary car by 2023 at the World Conference on Artificial Intelligence (WAIC 2021), which is taking place in Shanghai.

Now many people associate “smart cars” with a large gadget on wheels. Li Yanhong takes a different point of view: for him, a high-tech AI car is a kind of advanced robot. It is the development of such a “robot” that Baidu engineers are currently engaged in. The Chinese promise to present the novelty by 2023.

According to the developers, the new “smart car” will help make the roads safer: the human factor will be minimized here – and it is he who causes the majority of accidents.

The new car from Baidu will receive unmanned technologies using artificial intelligence. This means that he will be able to independently assess the situation on the road and make decisions.

In the meantime, it became known that the updated Mercedes GLC crossover showed readiness for production in new spy photos. The German SUV has noticeably changed in appearance, and he is also being tipped with a revised line of engines.
