Charged Corvette Z06 delayed until model year 2023

Previously, the brand had difficulties with the launch of the popular Corvette C8.

Sadly, this streak of setbacks will continue as the automaker has been forced to postpone the hotter Z06.

The problems with the production of the Corvette Z06 are reported by the GM Authority, citing its own sources. According to available information, the sports car was originally supposed to appear in the second half of 2022, but now it has been postponed to the 2023 model year.

The delay will set off a chain reaction: don’t expect the Z06 to debut this summer. So far, nothing is known about when the car will be unveiled. The most likely option is next year. Chevrolet is still silent about the upcoming model, but it has been caught by photo spies on more than one occasion. Thanks to them, we know that the car will be heavily influenced by the Corvette C8.R.

At the same time, the novelty will receive a more aggressive exterior with optimized aerodynamics, including a massive rear wing.

The biggest changes are expected in the engine compartment. Z06 will be equipped with a new 5.5-liter V8 engine with a flat crankshaft. According to rumors, its output will reach 617 hp. This is significantly higher than what the standard model’s 6.2-liter V8 now demonstrates, which develops up to 495 hp.

Given that a Corvette Stingray with the Z51 Performance Package can go from 0-100 in 2.9 seconds, the Z06 should push the sports car further into supercar territory.

Earlier, our portal said that the new BMW M3 CS partially lost its camouflage in a recent spy video from the Nurburgring. The novelty will be lighter and will receive improved steering.
