The new Cupra Born model was effectively unveiled on the eve of its debut on May 25.
Preliminarily introduced by the el-Born concept, the Cupra Born production model will debut on May 25 and will look almost identical to the concept version. The company did not go into details, but the road model is a docked Volkswagen ID.3. As a result, the hatchback acquired a sharp design with angular headlights and a more aggressive air intake, which is largely blocked.
The sides of the model are less dramatic because they are borrowed from Volkswagen. The novelty even has a body similar to its German counterpart. At the same time, Born has more sporty side skirts and a “floating” roof in the form of a darkened rear rack.
More importantly, the Cupra allowed for the first time to see the rear of the hatchback with an angular rear door and a light strip in full width.
Engineers and designers of the brand have emphasized the width of the car with a horizontal light spot and combined it with a pronounced diffuser, which increases the efficiency and aerodynamics of the car. Electrification must go hand in hand with efficiency, and in this respect the team has combined them perfectly.
In addition to the appearance, Cupra has released several images of the interior. It shows their textured textures and bronze accents. The second picture shows a thin center console covered with upholstery and even more bronze elements.
Cupra keeps the specifications secret, but the model will be based on the MEB platform. Recall that the El-Born is equipped with a 77 kWh battery, as well as a rear motor. The latter develops 201 hp, as in ID.3.
