Ferrari announces merger with AF Corse

The Italian automaker Ferrari will partner with AF Corse on the Le Mans Hypercar program, which is scheduled to launch in 2023.

AF Corse has exhibited various Ferraris in sports car races since 2012 and secured at least three 24 Hours of Le Mans victories and five WEC GTE manufacturer titles. Therefore, Ferrari believes that the partnership with AF Corse is the best way to ensure the success of the Hypercar series.

“Today’s announcement is an important step towards the debut of our LMH at the World Endurance Championship,” said Ferrari Attività Sportive GT CEO Antonello Coletta. “We are delighted to have a reliable partner like AF Corse for this project. Ferrari and AF Corse have had a strong relationship for a long time, as you can see at the FIA WEC where we officially launched our 488 GTE alongside the team from Piacenza. We look forward to continuing our journey together, as rewarding as the years of racing cooperation to date. ”

This year’s Le Mans hypercar championship is going to be very exciting. It involves Toyota, the Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus and the Signatech co-racing company sponsored by Alpine. They will be joined by Peugeot in 2022, while Ferrari, Audi, Porsche and Acura will enter the series in 2023. According to the Racer portal, such companies as Cadillac, Lamborghini, Bentley and BMW can take part in the new championship.
