Genesis is hard at work on the next generation of the G90 flagship sedan. The car is now being actively tested, as indicated by spy photos. Now we can take a look at the novelty without camouflage.
Images of the new Genesis G90 have surfaced online. The render was published on the Gotcha Cars YouTube channel. The current restyled 2020 Genesis G90 is the first model in Hyundai’s lineup to be released with the brand’s new design language. Such a sedan appeared on the market quite recently, but the Koreans have already conceived a large-scale reform. It will soon be replaced by a completely new model.
New renders show the updated G90 with an exterior design that bears similarities to the previous model. Moreover, the author of the visualization slightly refreshed the appearance of the sedan, adding head optics and taillights in the spirit of the current Genesis models. The front grille has also been redesigned.
In addition, the new generation G90 will have a modified body and may slightly increase the dimensions. The car interior has not yet been captured by spy cameras. But we know that it will be more modern than its predecessor. We expect to see the same widescreen infotainment system found on other Genesis models including the G80, GV80 and GV70.
The interior will be finished with premium materials that will make the car a worthy competitor to the BMW 7-Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
Powertrain details have yet to be confirmed, but Hyundai is expected to ditch the 5.0-liter V8 used in the current model. It will be replaced by a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6. The refreshed Genesis flagship sedan is expected to hit the market in 2022.
In the meantime, it became known that Dodge will remove the shocking shade of Gold Rush from the car’s color palette from August 1. This American automaker loves unusual colors.
