The South Korean company Hyundai has officially unveiled the Hyundai Elantra N sports sedan. The car not only looks spectacular, but will also provide maximum pleasure from the drive.
This was reported by the manufacturer’s press service. Under the hood of the novelty is a 2-liter 4-cylinder turbo engine with an increased diameter of the turbine wheel by 5 mm (up to 52 mm). It develops a power of 280 “horses”, and the torque reaches 392 Nm. It will be paired with an 8-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches, as well as a 6-speed “mechanics” that send all this power to the front drive wheels.
The electronically controlled limited-slip differential and the Launch Control system will help unleash the full potential of the machine. In addition, the “robot” has several special modes: N Grin Shift, N Power Shift and N Track Sense Shift, which provide optimal transmission modes depending on road conditions. For example, in N Grin Shift mode, the power can be briefly increased to 290 hp. It takes 5.3 seconds to accelerate to the first hundred.
To reduce weight, the Elantra N uses technology from the rally world – the drive shafts are assembled with hubs and bearings, which saved 1.7 kg. The exhaust system – with an electronically controlled valve that allows you to change the volume of the sound.
The car also received an independent adaptive suspension with reinforced trailing arms, four-point struts and an additional amplifier in the rear of the body. Responsible for braking dynamics are discs with a diameter of 360 mm and pads with a special composition for maximum efficiency. In the front part of the body there are special air ducts that prevent overheating of the brakes.
The Elantra N’s interior is sporty and can be complemented by lightweight racing buckets that are 10mm lower than normal. The N Sound Equalizer system amplifies the sound of the engine in the cabin through the speakers of the audio system and simulates the sound of the racing Elantra from the TCR series.
The infotainment system has extended functionality. The driver can display data on oil temperature, torque and boost pressure. In addition, using the Hyundai N app, you can save lap times, speed and other data on your smartphone.
Hyundai Elantra N stands out for its striking design with its own aerodynamic body kit, developed front spoiler, enlarged air intakes and a rear diffuser. The car also received side skirts, a rear wing, additional lighting equipment, as in F1 cars, as well as wheels with an original pattern.
