Land Rover brings the new generation Range Rover Sport to the test

This new series of spy shots shows for the first time how much progress has been made in the development of the next generation Range Rover Sport in over a year.

The test prototype of the new Land Rover Range Rover Sport is not yet ready to part with the camouflage. Like the current model, the new Range Rover Sport is very similar to the next generation RR. Judging from these photos, the Sport has other LED headlights that are even more compact.

The grille is rectangular instead of a thin trapezoid like the standard Range Rover. In profile, the main difference is at the rear, where the Sport has a large rear spoiler and a sharper corner of the rear window. These details make the model more aggressive than the next generation Range Rover.

The back is especially well camouflaged, making it difficult to capture the design features. The salon did not get into the lens of the spy cameras. We expect that the interior will come out as comfortable as possible with an abundance of touch screens, as has recently been done on modern premium cars.

Both Range Rover and Sport will use Land Rover’s modular architecture. Aluminum is widely used in the bases to reduce weight compared to existing models.

As for the powertrain, options for a mild hybrid, a plug-in hybrid and a full-fledged electric vehicle are on the way. We expect the new Range Rover to debut later this year and go on sale early next. The Sport version will only be presented at the end of 2022 and will hit the market as a 2023 model.

Meanwhile, it became known that the Dodge company will show a teaser of the mysterious muscle car on July 8. It can be an electric car, which has been written about a lot lately.
