With the 2013 birth year, the Land Rover Range Rover Sport is definitely no longer a rookie, and now is the time to update it. A fresh set of spy photos shows the new Range Rover’s brother from every angle.
British automaker Land Rover is working not only on the new Range Rover crossover, but also on the Range Rover Sport. As for the design, both models practically do not differ, which is quite logical and, in turn, not surprising. Land Rover is still conservative in the design of the new Range Rover.
Like its predecessor, the new Range Rover Sport has a flatter rear window than its big brother. Another difference between the pair has to do with the number of people the crossovers are capable of carrying. While the Range Rover can seat up to seven passengers, the Sport version is limited to five.
The new Range Rover Sport is likely to be based on the MLA. This new platform opens the door to further electrification. The current Range Rover Sport is already available as a plug-in hybrid. Therefore, a new version of the PHEV is in development, although it is possible that an all-electric model will also be available in the long term. The youngest Range Rover Sport is not expected to hit the market until early 2022.
