Lucid showcases interior of luxury electric Air with retractable touchscreen

The Lucid Air electric sedan continues its journey onto the assembly line. As the premium electric car prepares for production, the automaker invites us to take a look at its user interface known as the Lucid UX.

Lucid showed the interior of its future electric sedan, Lucid Air, with an emphasis on modern electronics. The centerpiece is a 34-inch curved display called the “Glass Cockpit”. It is divided into three different sections and boasts 5K resolution.

On the left side of the display are the vehicle controls: headlights, wipers and window heaters. With it, these key elements will always be at hand. The center section is a highly sophisticated digital instrument cluster with a special design: the display conveys what the driver needs to know: speed and range.

In this case, when the DreamDrive driver assistance systems are activated, the cluster is transformed into a “three-dimensional image of Lucid Air and other vehicles around it on the road.” The last screen belongs to multimedia and navigation. The innovative system supports the popular services Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa.

Below in the saloon of the electric sedan there is a control panel with which you can control the climate and adjust the seats.

Users will also be able to flip through the menus from the Glass Cockpit to the Pilot Panel to see additional information and settings. However, this is not its main feature: the screen can retract, opening up access to additional storage space.

Interestingly, the shades displayed on all displays in the cabin correspond to the overall color scheme of the interior. All screens are capable of updating the software they require “over the air”. And car owners can also download a special application to their smartphone and monitor the charge level, adjust climate control, plot routes, etc.

The first deliveries of the new electric sedan are due to begin later this year. The electric car will be offered in a variety of configurations, ranging from the entry-level Pure variant with 408 hp. and a mileage of 653 kilometers on a single charge to the 1080 hp Dream Edition. and a range of 810 kilometers.

Earlier, AutoTimesNews said that Toyota has released a teaser for the new crossover for the United States ahead of its debut on June 2. What kind of model the Japanese are preparing is an intrigue. One possible candidate is the Toyota Corolla Cross.
