Brabus has a reputation for taking Mercedes cars to new levels of insanity. Just last month, the German tuner turned the Mercedes-AMG GLE And GLS into 800-hp super SUVs, but its latest high-performance creation is even more bonkers: presenting the new Brabus 900 Rocket Edition.
Based on the Mercedes-AMG G63, the name is a reference to the absurd amount of horsepower lurking under the hood. As standard, the G63 is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 generating 577 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque, which is more than enough grunt for a large luxury SUV.
For the Rocket 900, Brabus has increased the displacement to 4.5 liters, added larger three-inch downpipes and turbochargers, and remapped the injection, ignition, and boost pressure control of the ECU. As a result, the modified G63 now generates a supercar-rivaling 900 hp and 774 lb-ft of torque.
