Already next week, July 8, a spectacular car show starts – the Festival of Speed in British Goodwood. As part of this annual event, the next generation BMW 2-Series Coupe will premiere.
Less than a week is left before the official premiere of the new BMW 2-Series. Let’s remember everything that is known today about this new product. The next generation coupe will receive a rear-wheel drive layout and will be presented in two versions at the very beginning of sales.
This is the all-wheel drive version of the M240i xDrive with a powerful turbo-six and a sports rear differential, the basic rear-wheel drive version of the 230i with a turbo four. Also, the Bavarian automaker announced a “charged” version of the M2, work on which is still ongoing.
You will have to wait at least a year before its premiere. As for the new coupe, the more advanced version will be equipped with a 374-horsepower inline 6-cylinder turbo engine, combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission and a proprietary all-wheel drive system.
A simpler modification will receive a two-liter turbo four.
The appearance of the coupe will be in many ways similar to the design of the front-wheel drive sedan Gran Coupe. The coupe of the new generation will enter the assembly line at the end of this summer, and the appearance of the M2 coupe of the G87 series will have to wait until the end of next year. We won’t see this high-performance model on the road until 2023.
Earlier, AutoTimesNews said that Chery will revive the compact QQ model in the form of an electric car in 2021. Thanks to this model, the brand wants to attract the attention of young people to its products.
