With the new BMW 2-Series, the Munich brand is demonstrating that among the many crossovers, the coupe still looks good in the eyes of fans. Now it remains to wait for the top version of the BMW M2, which has shown itself for the second time.

A two-door coupe, rear-wheel drive and a six-cylinder engine (in top-end versions) behind a relatively modest grille – according to real fans, this is what a real BMW should be. The new 2-Series is already pretty close to that description, although the M240i still has permanent all-wheel drive and automatic transmission. So wait for the BMW M2, an even faster member of the family, which, like the successor to the earlier M2 and M1 Coupe, has to live up to high expectations.

The BMW M2 is once again caught in the spy camera lenses. The fact that we really have an M2 is evidenced by the fact that the car is very wide and has four exhausts, which can also be found in the M3 and M4 models. The M2 engine range is expected to have a similar engine, albeit slightly less powerful, in the order of 410 – 450 hp, in line with the power of the outgoing M2 Competition and M2 CS.

BMW is also supplying the standard version of the larger and heavier M3 and M4 with rear-wheel drive and manual transmission, so all indications are that this configuration will be available for the BMW M2 as well. In addition to the standard M2, there will be a Competition version, which of course has even more power.

After the published images of the front bumper of the future BMW M2 generation G87, several renders of the model with the features of this element appeared on the Web. In our opinion, this render is the most attractive and shows a fairly accurate preview of the model with this design.
