The clear leader in off-road luxury will soon be shown in its new form.
When it comes to a luxury SUV that’s built for off-roading, the answer is always the Toyota Land Cruiser. The current variation of this model, which has few competitors, is still outdated. Fortunately, we’ll see a new one soon, as indicated by numerous spy photos of the model. And if the exterior of the Toyota LC 300 Series is practically not a big secret, then all the information about the functions and capabilities of the new item, of course, we still have to find out. In the meantime, if we collect everything we know so far, a small number of interesting assumptions can be made.
Gazoo Racing is rumored to be working on a high-performance version of the LC 300. Presumably, the model will get plastic elements in the headlights in body color, a wider and more aggressive grille, additional air intakes, as well as updated mirrors, wheels, brakes, badges and other sports accents. If the rumors are true, the GR-S variant developed by GR will include differential locks, larger tires and smaller wheels.
If we talk about the “regular” Land Cruiser, then we can expect that it will be offered in GX, AX and VX trim levels, and the starter model will receive three rows of seats, all-LED headlights, 18-inch wheels and the ability to lock the rear differential. Under the hood will be a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 borrowed from the Lexus LS, which will produce around 420 hp. and 582 Nm of torque, all of which will be directed to the all-wheel drive system via a 10-speed automatic transmission.
