Off-road version of Porsche 911 will debut next week

Mark Philip Gemballa announces that next week there will be a new Porsche 911 SUV, Project Sandbox, the tuning house’s first draft.

In parallel with this news, Marc Philipp Gemballa GmbH has published a new teaser image of a car drifting on the sand. Although no specific date was given for the premiere, Mark Philip said he would provide more details in advance of it. At the moment, it is known that the new car will be equipped with an efficient Akrapovic exhaust system and KW Automotive suspension, and KLK Motorsport will be responsible for aerodynamics.

The company has previously stated that the engine will be supplied by the legendary tuner RUF. Despite Mark Philip Gemballa’s claims that power wars are a long tradition, the car will receive a whopping 750 hp. and 928 Nm of torque from a modified version of the 992 911 Turbo S six-cylinder engine on which the Project Sandbox is based.

If the name Gemballa sounds familiar, it’s because 27-year-old Mark Philippe’s father was Uwe Gemballa, who founded the tuning company of the same name. This tuning house is a separate company with no affiliation with Marc Philipp Gemballa GmbH. What’s more, it still exists and recently announced an off-road vehicle inspired by the Paris-Dakar 959 rally.

Mark Philip Gemballa promises that his upcoming car will be “an ultramodern yet timeless supercar, forming a hybrid of a modern supercar with all its comfort and everyday usability combined with off-road capabilities that provide unique equipment for people and their adventures.”
