While the topic of restoring a classic is something that everyone appreciates, restomodding a classic into an EV remains somewhat of a controversial thing to talk about. I for one believe that classic cars should be left alone with their original powertrains because we can always create a classic-inspired replica with a powertrain of our choice. But, as the cliché goes, “to each their own” and it’s understandable why someone would want to swap the boxer in their Porsche 964 911 with an electric motor.
UK-based Everrati offers to restomod the 964 models (both Coupe and Targa) into an electric vehicle while retaining the 2+2 and rear-wheel-drive configuration. The donor car can be customer-supplied or Everrati sourced.
In case you didn’t notice, the car retains the twin tailpipes at the rear, and that’s because the conversion is reversible, which I think is pretty cool and helps maintain the value of the classic.
