Prototypes of the new BMW X1 2023 show their production headlights

The prototypes of the new BMW X1 2023 take a step forward in their development. A year later, at the first stage, they move to a new level. The model now has all production headlights and taillights.

The new generation of the 2023 BMW X1 compact SUV is spotted again, albeit this time with an important comparative advantage. The model already has all the optical production groups, another step in its development and launch.

The spy photos show a significant loss of disguise. At the front, the headlights are slimmer. They extend towards the vertical LED fins in the same line as the Series 3 Facelift. The shape of the radiator grille is also visible, retaining the classic BMW format. The bumper remains closed, while the black honeycomb mesh is visible.

At the rear of the model, there are new, thinner lights with a darkened top and a twisty side light. The new X1 is missing parts that warped parts of the rear volume, but not enough to see the new shape of the fixed rear window. The door handles are integrated into the door panels.

The X1’s state-of-the-art exterior design will be complemented by an interior revolution. Like the new Series 2 Active Tourer, it also gets a new curved screen as standard, integrating the instrument cluster and infotainment into a coherent whole.

The Bavarian firm will offer complete equipment as usual, inheriting the new Sonos audio system from the minivan.

The third generation X1 will be unveiled in late spring 2022 with production starting in July. Sales are slated to start at the end of the year as the 2023 model. It will come with a gasoline and diesel engine, a three- and four-cylinder plug-in hybrid, and an all-electric option with various iX1 aesthetics.
