The novelty draws inspiration from multi-role strike fighters and has a wide range of capabilities both on and off the track.
The hypercar SSC Tuatara received the honorary title of the fastest production car on the planet. At the beginning of the year, the coupe was accelerated to a maximum of 455.28 km / h. Now the SSC North America brand has offered the market 2 new versions of this high-speed machine with a circulation of up to 2200 units.
Compared to the standard Tuatara, the downforce is tripled to about 499 kg at 257 km / m. This is due to the extensive aerodynamic package, which includes an active rear wing, as well as a fixed wing with vertical stabilizers.
The car has acquired a large front splitter, dive bombers, aerodynamic sills and a protruding diffuser. Nearly 55% of downforce is transferred to the rear axle, and SSC says this provides “optimized balance, predictability and exceptional confidence in stability.”
The unique styling continues into the cabin as SSC said the model will feature exclusive features. The company did not go into details, but there will be Alcantara upholstery as well as an optional carbon fiber dashboard.
Power comes from a twin-turbo 5.9-liter V8 engine that develops up to 1,750 hp. It is linked to a robotic 7-speed manual transmission that can shift in less than 100 milliseconds.
The hypercar offers motorists virtually limitless performance, sporty looks and capabilities not available in the legal Tuatara. The model also features a track-oriented interior. The developers have provided a carbon fiber front fascia and roll structure, racing seats and five-point harnesses.
The big news is the “upgradeable” for the twin-turbo V8. It increases power to 2,200 hp.
