The Audi A6 e-tron concept debuted at the Shanghai Motor Show for the first time. The show car, most likely, will very soon become a serial and compete with the Tesla Model S. Independent designers have shown how a new serial electric car might look like.
Audi and other manufacturers have made it a rule to present concepts that are 90 percent representative of a potential production model. The German automaker’s recent A6 E-Tron EV concept is another example. So with a few tweaks made to the official photos, we can get a good idea of what a commercial vehicle will look like.
Renders of the serial version of the future novelty are presented by ElectricVehicleWeb. The authors of this render slightly redesigned the front bumper and worked on the radiator grille. And such an electric car received more traditional door handles and more compact wheels (21 inches instead of 22, as in the concept car).
The optics are wider and the illuminated Audi emblem on the front has disappeared. The side compartments with the rear-view cameras were not touched: we saw something similar on the current production models of the German premium brand.
What is inside the A6 E-Tron is not known. The manufacturer did not declassify the interior of the future novelty. There is also no official confirmation that the new electric car will be on the conveyor. However, experts have no doubts about its manufacturing future.
Recall that the A6 E-Tron is the first car of the VW group to use the new PPE platform developed by Audi and Porsche engineers. The all-electric Macan and the Audi Q6 E-Tron battery crossover will get the same architecture.
In the meantime, it became known that the new Renault models will not travel at speeds higher than 180 km / h. From 2022, the French will put speed limiters on their cars.
